I don't have much to offer as a prize, but I came up with a neato writing prompt / contest.
Write a short story (under or around 2000 words) where the main character is a rich aristocrat or diplomat who was once a homeless vagabond with little to nothing. The story can be a monologue of this character describing how they went from rags to riches, how they feel about it now, and where they plan to go from here, or you can write a short scene from their life as they are making this transition. That is entirely up to you, but I'm looking for a compelling, interesting short story showing drastic changes this character's development. Be creative! Bonus points will be awarded to those who draw an illustration to accompany their entry!
I'm going to give you guys a month to get your entries in. On Feb. 18th, I'll pick my favorite, and the winner will receive a journal feature on my page! Two runner-up contestants will share a journal feature the next time I write a journal.
I hope you'll participate and share this with other writers! I'm looking forward to reading your entries.
